Shortcuts
Rebind, disable or reset any command’s key, with live conflict warnings as you type a chord.
- Rebinds persist and re-apply through the shortcut manager on the next launch.
- Every shortcut is rebindable, including the tool keys and the command palette itself.
- The onboarding tour offers an After Effects shortcut map on first run; accepting it remaps the set in one go.
Chords never fire while focus is in a text input — with the deliberate exception of the command palette, which owns its own listener.
Shortcuts resolve most-recently-registered first. That is how the camera tool’s Esc wins while the tool is active and falls through to Deselect the rest of the time.
Workspaces
- Apply a layout preset.
- Save the current layout as a preset.
- Delete your own presets.
The layout is JSON-serialisable, so a workspace preset captures the whole arrangement — which panels are docked where, tab order, and split sizes.
View → Reset Layout returns to the defaults without touching your saved presets.
Worth building: a blocking workspace with the layer tree and viewport large and the timeline small, and an animating workspace with the timeline and graph editor tall.
Appearance
- Accent colour.

Popping panels out
Not in the Customize dialog, but part of the same story: any panel can be popped out into its own window, and the pop-out stays live-synced with the editor.
On a two-monitor setup the usual arrangement is the viewport on the main screen with the timeline and graph editor on the second.
