The program that evaluates a project and draws its frames, as distinct from the interface you click. Some tools run it inside the interface process; others run it as a process of its own.

In Premation

Since 0.9.0 the editor is only the interface. premation-engine, a native C++ process the app starts and supervises, holds the document and draws the viewport, the pop-out viewports, Export, the Render Queue and the command line. If it stops, the editor restarts it and replays your work, and offers a recovery copy of the project if it keeps failing.
