Native plugin

A plugin written in C or C++ and compiled to a shared library that the host application loads. It is the kind of plugin After Effects effects are.

In Premation

Since 0.9.0 the only plugin system. A bundle — premation-plugin.json plus a .dll or .dylib — is loaded by the engine from the app's native-plugins folder. The API follows After Effects' effect API and covers effects and generators. The earlier JavaScript plugin system was removed.
