Proxy

A smaller, easier-to-decode copy of a clip that stands in for the original while you work, so heavy footage plays and scrubs smoothly.

In Premation

Generate or attach one on the asset. The viewport uses it; Export, the Render Queue and the command line always read the original. The asset row states when a proxy is in use.
