MOGRT
Motion Graphics Template: a composition with a few fields exposed so an editor can change the text or colours without opening the animation.
Also called Motion Graphics Template, .mogrt, Essential Graphics template.
In After Effects
In After Effects you build a template in the Essential Graphics panel (Window ▸ Essential Graphics): drag properties into it to expose them, then click Export Motion Graphics Template to write a .mogrt file. An editor opens that file in Premiere Pro's Essential Graphics panel and changes only the exposed controls, without After Effects.
In Premation
Templates expose Essential Properties the same way. The Export dialog's MOGRT format writes a Premation template package (.mogrt.zip) that re-imports here; it is not an Adobe .mogrt and does not open in Premiere Pro.
Step by step
- Build the composition, or start from a template on the Start screen such as Lower Third.
- Author the template fields in the Library panel's Templates section: expose the text, colour, number or media properties that should change per version.
- For a placeholder image or video, expose it as a media slot and pick a fit policy: Contain, Cover or Native. Use Cover for a masked slot.
- To make many versions, load a CSV in the Templates section and apply a row; one row is one undo entry.
- Export with File ▸ Export… and the MOGRT format, which writes a Premation template package (.mogrt.zip). Bring one back with File ▸ Import ▸ Template Package….
Tips
- Expose as few fields as the job needs. Everything not exposed is locked, so a short list of controls is a template that is hard to break.
- Test every text field with the longest real value, such as a long surname or a two-line title, before you hand the template over.
- Mark protected time regions for anything timed to something external, like a logo hold or a legal card, so stretching the template to a new duration does not stretch them.

Questions
- What is a MOGRT file?
- A .mogrt is a Motion Graphics Template exported from After Effects' Essential Graphics panel. It packages an animation with a few exposed controls, so an editor can change the text or colours in Premiere Pro without opening the animation.
- Can Premation export a .mogrt for Premiere Pro?
- No. Premation's MOGRT export is a Premation template package (.mogrt.zip) holding the template fields and the project. Premation and scripts can re-import it, but it is not an Adobe .mogrt and Premiere cannot open it. To hand a graphic to a Premiere editor, export it as video with alpha, such as WebM or ProRes 4444.
- Can I fill a motion graphics template from a spreadsheet?
- In Premation, yes: load a CSV in the Library panel's Templates section and apply a row, or render a file per row with the command line's --data option. Text, colour and number columns apply; a media column is reported as skipped.
